IT'S ALL ABOUT PARTNERSHIPS

The principal objective of the Healthy Ageing Partnerships (HAP) is to collaborate and share knowledge on healthy ageing and to provide a forum for members to discuss issues affecting our older population. Its vision is to provide a caring, inclusive and connected place for older people to engage as fully as possible in their health and wellbeing journey.

Positioning the Sunshine Coast as a leading healthy ageing regions nationally will be accomplished by inclusive collaboration of like-minded industry representatives and community organisations working together for the benefit of older persons.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PARTNERSHIPS

Collaborative partnerships aim to promote and share healthy ageing initiatives across the Sunshine Coast region. This is achieved with a clear and shared sense of purpose involving key stakeholders working together towards agreed positive healthy ageing outcomes that extend beyond what individuals, services or organisations can achieve in isolation.

HAP’s main objectives therefore are to:

  • Ensure the sustainability of HAP to advocate, strengthen and support a culture of healthy ageing on the Sunshine Coast.
  • Identify and support existing, healthy ageing projects and best practice initiatives that focus on strengthening the healthy ageing environment.
  • Share information and resources among key stakeholders and older person’s support and community service representatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HAP to maintain the values and principles of the partnership, meet current goals and objectives and ensure quality outcomes are achieved.
  • Encourage key stakeholders and the older people’s support and community service representatives to identify gaps and issues in service delivery
and provide advocacy and support towards achieving more effective outcomes for all older people.
  • Deliver quality information that is evidenced based, credible, transparent and without personal agenda.
